Magneto Replacement Body

Magneto Replacement Body/Housing, as supplied with Sure-Fire/Smart-Fire Pre-Unit Single/Twin/V-Twin Ignition Systems.
Fits in place of Lucas K2F/BTH type magnetos.

What motorcycles does it fit?
Triumph/Bsa/Norton pre-unit singles/twins, Velocette singles, Vincent Comet single, Vincent v-twins, originally fitted with (or modified to accept) a Lucas K1F/K2F or BTH type magneto.

Drive gear not included.

Our magneto replacement housing features the same taper and thread as the original K2F type magneto (or similar, with the 3 bolt fixing triangular flange).

Aluminium alloy body, steel shaft supported on bearings with seals.
Shaft has female taper to accept Sure Fire/Smart Fire rotors or Lucas mechanical advance unit.
Shaft drive end has 3/8" BSF thread, as per Lucas/BTH magnetos.
Aluminium alloy cap with fixing screws. Internal pillar screws & washers. Machined recess accepts Sure Fire/Smart Fire triggers or Lucas contact-breaker assembly.

If running with electronic ignition that features built-in advance/retard and you have a manual advance lever, it should be disabled/not used. Similarly, if running with electronic ignition that features built-in advance/retard, you should lock up the mechanical advance unit (ATU) or replace it with a solid drive gear.
If you have a mechanical advance unit (ATU) it should be locked solid or replaced with a solid drive gear/sprocket.
